ABOUT

Our Mission

IAHC is dedicated to making veterinary training materials accessible in local languages. To achieve this, we have partnered with the authors of the Handbook of Animal Health. This comprehensive handbook is currently available on our website as free downloads in English, Chinese (Mandarin), French, Hindi, Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), Kyrgyz, Laotian, Myanmar (Burmese), Russian, and Thai. By October 2025, a Tamil version will also be available for download, followed by Arabic and Haitian Creole versions by the end of 2026.

For those preferring physical copies, printed editions in English, French, Laotian, and Chinese (Mandarin) are available for purchase on Amazon, where an English Kindle e-book is also offered. Additionally, some translated versions are accessible as locally printed copies within the countries where those languages are spoken.

IAHC aims to empower veterinary professionals to leverage their expertise for global benefit, with a particular focus on resource-limited regions. We loosely network amongst others with similar interests; and professional activities often include:

  • Delivering guest lectures at universities or veterinary colleges.
  • Engaging in grassroots initiatives with indigenous communities to enhance livestock production.
  • Training farmers, extension agents, and veterinarians in cutting-edge animal health techniques.
  • Providing consultation on livestock breeding or procurement.

If you are interested in being a part of this network, please contact us for further information.

Publications

The Handbook of Animal Health provides extensive information about the handling and care of most domestic animals kept around the globe, including treatment of the health problems these animals most commonly face. Readers will learn how to keep their animals healthy through good nutrition, as well as how to recognize, prevent, and control common animal health diseases. This technical manual, in easy-to-understand language, is a great companion to animal health professionals of all kinds, from livestock farmers to veterinarians. The clear and practical illustrations on nearly every page guide the reader in understanding and practical application throughout. As authors, we have intended that this manual will be a useful tool to help keep livestock healthy and productive. We also hope that all users of this book will gain the knowledge to recognize when they need to call on help from more experienced veterinarians and animal health workers.
